Manufacturer Price Increase
The plumbing industry has been warned of increased pricing from many of the main hot water manufacturers on their main hot water units, which will come into effect in March 2019.
The increased purchase price is due to larger than expected increases on main input costs of steel; including stainless steel, gas and electricity and an adverse exchange rate to the US Dollar. Main manufacturers are warning of up to 5% increase on unit price and 7% on spare parts. It is expected that other manufacturer’s will follow suit and increase sale price in line with the movement.
It is expected there will be a roll on effect in the pricing and quoting of hot water installs following March 2019 in which the customer can expect to pay more for hot water installation and repairs.
